Antibiotic Therapy

Each use of an antibiotic, especially with wide antibacterial action, causes changes also in normal flora of the organism, including vaginal flora. Decrease of the number of protective lactic acid bacteria and an increase of vaginal pH, promote growth of other (pathogenic) microorganisms which may cause inflammation. In many women mycotic inflammation of genital organs develop exactly during antibiotic therapy. Using probiotics (both intravaginal and oral with documented mechanism of action, containing protective bacteria) after antibiotic treatment, may prevent vaginitis and their complications.
