Sexually active women not using mechanical contraceptives such as condoms, diaphragms, especially those having many partners, are at risk of sexually-transmitted diseases, i.e. infections with chlamydia, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Treponema pallidum (syphilis) and viruses.
Use of the same toiletries (e.g. the same towels) should be avoided, and condoms should be used, which, besides contraceptive function, also protects from sexually-transmitted infections( trichomoniasis, chlamydiosis, mycosis, HIV)
