prOVag (food supplement) is an innovative probiotic for women, manufactured in the form of oral capsules.
Composition of strains of probiotic bacteria contained in prOVag was determined basing on research of scientists of Department of Microbiology of Collegium Medicum of Jagiellonian University. Its innovative character is a consequence of the fact that orally administered product exerts beneficial effect on vaginal biocenosis.
prOVag contains 3 strains of lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus gasseri 57C, Lactobacillus fermentum 57A, Lactobacillus plantarum 57B). These strains were selected due to their following properties:

ACTIVITY:
prOVag contains a lyophilised suspension of living lactic acid bacteria which exert
a beneficial effect on the urogenital microflora in women due to their strong probiotic properties.
The physiological vaginal bacterial flora is composed mainly of lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus genus). These bacteria produce hydrogen peroxide with antibacterial properties and lactic acid, responsible for maintaining appropriate pH. Proper vaginal secretion is acid, therefore it inhibits the growth of pathogenic microorganisms responsible for the development of urogenital infections. A decreased number of lactic acid bacteria generate risk of developing vaginal infections.
The microbiological vaginal balance may be disturbed by such factors as: antibiotic treatment, contraceptive agents intake, menstruation, pregnancy, climacterium, frequent use of swimming pools and hygienic habits such as frequent vaginal irrigation, use of tampons.
prOVag helps to bring back the physiological urogenital bacterial flora and maintains appropriate vaginal pH which inhibits the growth of pathogenic microorganisms.

1 billion of lactic acid bacteria in the following proportions:
50% Lactobacillus gasseri 57C, 25% Lactobacillus fermentum 57A, 25% Lactobacillus plantarum 57B.
Excipients:
lactose, mannitol – bulking agent; gelatin and titanium dioxide – capsule components; milk, saccharose, sodium glutamate; magnesium stearate – anti-caking agent.
The product contains saccharides and sweetener. Excessive consumption may cause purgative effect.

CONTENT OF A PACKAGING:
The packages of prOVag containing 10 capsules (one blister) or 20 capsules (two blisters) are available for sale.
DOSAGE AND METHOD OF USE:
Use 1 capsule daily, taken orally with water. The product should be used at least for 20 days.
Do not exceed a recommended daily portion.
During pregnancy and breast-feeding the product may be used after consulting a doctor.
STORAGE:
Store at temperature 2-8ºC (in a refrigerator), keep out of the reach of small children. Protect against humidity.
Attention! If the product is stored out of the refrigerator, at the temperature up to 25ºC, it should be used within 4 weeks.
